Imagine you are an HIM consultant who has been hired by a private practice to oversee the selection, implementation and adoption of an electronic health record for the practice. You are getting ready to have your kickoff meeting with the practice manager where you will discuss the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its impact on the success of the selection and implementation of the EHR. In your initial discussion response, explain what you would tell the practice manager about the SDLC, and its various stages. The goal is to ensure the practice manager understands the steps of the SDLC and its impact on the EHR adoption's success.
