Clinical Requirement:

please see attachment LettertoaLegislature.docx Assignment: Letter to a Legislator about a Current Health Problem/Quality It is vital to understand how to communicate your viewpoint about a current issue. In this assignment, you will develop a letter to your legislator about a current health problem. Once you have completed this assignment, save the letter to use as a template for future health issues which need to be presented to your legislator.  Step 1: Select a current health problem that is being debated at the national and/or state level (e.g., the proliferation of “pill mills” and pain clinics), and state why it is of interest. Step 2: Identify a legislator (state or federal) and state why that person is the appropriate one to contact. Step 3: Draft a one-page letter to the legislator including the proper salutation and the components below: · Introduce yourself and your reason for writing. · State concisely what you understand to be the current socioeconomic, political, and ethical issues surrounding the problem. · Discuss the implications of the problem for nursing or nursing practice. · Make a clear request for action. Request a response. · Use a complementary closing and include information how they should contact you in closing. · You will  not need a title page or a reference page for this assignment, just a 1-page letter – do not exceed 1 page. · Use the following YouTube for basic formal letter formatting: · https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xUTguLaaXILinks to an external site. Opioids have become easily accessible to individuals. Deaths that have resulted from opioid overdoses have increased throughout the years and continue to grow. I am writing to you, to take action and address the opioid epidemic within our state before we can move forward to address this issue at a much higher level. In the hospital setting we treat a vast number of individuals and the majority are individuals with a lower socioeconomic status who are also at a higher risk for becoming opioid dependent. It’s crucial that as a state we implement interventions that will help reduce the opioid epidemic within our state. Financially, pharmaceutical companies will be greatly affected, but the lives of individuals are most important, not the production of a potential harmful substance. It’s unethical to not treat a patient’s pain properly, but implementing other interventions first to help treat a patient’s pain should occur before resorting to opioids. It can become difficult as a nurse to help care for patients with opioid addictions because their high tolerance for pain medication means nurses can’t effectively treat the patient’s pain. Most often these individuals have to be withdrawn from controlled substances in the hospital and when they leave, they may resort to using opioids again. Opioid addiction can be prevented if other pain measures and interventions are utilized first. Utilizing non-opioid interventions for pain management, implementing prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) in all healthcare facilities to effectively monitor patients, better screening for who requires opioid prescriptions, carefully managing the type of opioid, implementing an opioid contract, restricting healthcare professionals to the amount and type of medication they prescribe are all different interventions that can be used to help. I appreciate the time you have taken to read my letter. I look forward to your response in the next few weeks regarding a solution to this issue. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Your Name, Title

Nursing Help FAQ: Nursing

How is a nursing research paper different from regular essays?

Nursing papers, especially in Nursing, require a heavy focus on Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). This means using peer-reviewed clinical journals (less than 5 years old), adhering strictly to APA 7th edition, and demonstrating how theory applies to clinical patient outcomes.

Can you write my DNP Capstone or MSN Thesis?

Yes. We have a dedicated team for doctoral and master's level nursing work. We help with PICO-T development, methodology chapters, and comprehensive literature reviews that meet university-level rigor.

What if I need my nursing paper in APA 7 format?

APA 7th edition is our default clinical language. We ensure perfect title pages, running heads, headings (Levels 1-5), and a comprehensive reference list with active DOIs.
